Athletic Performance Training
Testing/Evaluation: The Athlete evaluation is essential to create ideal individual & team profiles. Athletes will undergo a Movement Analysis which focuses on functional abilities and injury prevention strategies. Athletes’ sport specific power, strength, speed, agility & endurance capabilities are tested. Data compiled will be used to create customized individual & team performance enhancement programs.
Biomechanical Patterning: Soft tissue techniques & corrective exercises are performed to reestabilsh proper biomechanical movement patterns and create the ideal athletic base for the demands of the advanced training program.
DWU: The Dynamic Warm Up places emphasis on muscle activation & proprioceptive awareness. The goal is to increase core temperature, joint mobility and muscle pliability. The DWU consists of a general warm up, static & dynamic stretches, plyometrics & nervous system activation. This will refine the athletes’ movement patterns and prepare them for movement skill.
Movement Skill: Focus is on technique & application to allow athletes to become more powerful & efficient on the field. Training sessions will incorporate linear & multidirectional movement drills. Improving movement skills can have a significant effect on performance & injury prevention.
Strength Development: All sports are movement based. Strength Development training will enhance strength in order to support these movements. Athletes will train at various tempos, loads & movements specific to their abilities & their sport. Strength development increases overall athletic efficiency and sports specific power.
ESD: Energy System Development is designed to train anaerobic & aerobic energy systems. Focusing on the athlete’s needs & sporting demands creates energy efficiency and sports specific endurance.
Recovery: It is important that our athletes understand proper recovery techniques. This will ensure that their bodies avoid breakdown & remain in optimal condition for future training sessions. Athletes will focus on stretching, soft tissue techniques, proper nutrition, hydration & sleep.
