Marya Morrison BAHSc-AT, CAT(C), Osteopathy (Thesis Writer)
Marya graduated from Sheridan College and became a Certified Athletic Therapist in 2007. Since then she has had the opportunity to work with many elite athletes and active individuals of all levels. Over the past few years Marya has worked with the varsity teams and athletes at the University of Guelph as well as National and International athletes.
Since graduation from Sheridan, Marya’s experiences have led her to further her education in the field of manual medicine. In 2013 Marya completed 5 year Osteopathy program at the Canadian College of Osteopathy and will graduate in November 2014 after completing her current research thesis.
By coupling her knowledge of the human body and its mechanics with her dedication to holistic wellness, Marya is excited to assits all her clients reach their individual athletic performance and overall health goals.
Nicole Allen BKin-Hon, BAHSc-AT, CAT(C)
Nicki is a Certified Athletic Therapist with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association and the Ontario Athletic Therapist Association since 2013. Nicki graduated from McMaster University in 2009 with an Honors Bachelor of Kinesiology with a Minor in Health Studies. She continued her education at Sheridan College, completing the Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences Degree in Athletic Therapy with honors in 2013. As a student, Nicki worked at the University of Guelph with the Varsity football, women’s volleyball and women’s rugby teams, winning a Rugby CIS National Championship in 2011. She also had the opportunity to work as an Athletic Therapy Intern for the Toronto Argonauts Football Club in their 2012 Grey Cup winning season. Nicki is currently the Head Athletic Therapist for Team Ontario Football and an Assistant Athletic Therapist with Football Canada. She has also worked with numerous local high school and club rugby, hockey, football and wrestling teams.
Nicki became interested in Athletic Therapy during her years at McMaster through her exposure to the fields of rehabilitation, exercise physiology, sports injuries and a few influential professors working in professional sports. Nicki’s passion for Athletic Therapy lies in the field, working with athletes in the full spectrum of sport and performance from pre-game taping, to injury management and rehabilitation.
Kristina Milligan BKin-Hon, BAHSc-AT, CAT(C)
Kristina Milligan is a Certified Athletic Therapist and completed her undergrad at Lakehead University graduating in 2010 with an Honours Bachelor degree in Kinesiology. She completed her undergrad degree while studying in Thunder Bay Ont. Canada, as well Bathurst NSW Australia. Kristina completed her Advance Certificate in Athletic Therapy in 2011 from Mount Royal University in Calgary AB.
After completing her Canadian National Certification, CAT(C), in November of 2011 she spent the year working primarily with the Midget AAA Royals hockey team in Calgary AB. This past year Kristina worked in the European EBYSL U17 and U20 hockey league in Austria. Kristina has worked with many levels of athletes from weekend warriors to elite athletes from a variety of sport backgrounds.
Kristina was born and raised in Guelph, Ontario. She first became interested in sport therapy as a young gymnast after suffering many injuries and having the support of Kinesiologists and Physiotherapists alike. This has given Kristina a unique perspective on injuries and rehabilitation. Kristina is excited to be member of the Basic Motion Therapy team as an Athletic Therapist.
